Release Policy / Premium Hold

ESL Office calculates premium holds using the grace period from the date of the unsatisfied invoice. If no outstanding invoices exist then no Premium hold issues.

For example, if an invoice dated 11/1/2016 is paid on 11/16/2016, no hold occurs since payment is within the 31 day grace period. However, if payment is made after 12/2/2016, the grace period is exceeded, and a hold occurs.

ESL Office evaluates premium holds based on the TPA paid date for the submission. If the paid date for the submission is prior to the 31-day grace period, the claim is processed for payment. If the TPA paid date for the submission is after the grace period, the claim is placed on premium hold, meaning it will not be paid until the premium is received. Partial premium payments do not release a hold. Holds can be released manually following the steps outlined below.
