Document a New Loss Adjust Expense

Search the desired claimants from any specific sub tab (Claimants, Claim Log, Notification Log, or Reserves).

Click the desired claimant from the list.

Click the Loss Adjust Expense button.

Click New to display the Loss Adjustment Expense window.

Document the loss adjustment as follows

Vendor
Click the button and specify the vendor using the Company Search window.
Bill Type
Specify whether the adjustment is an invoice or a credit memo by checking the corresponding box.
Expense Type
Choose the appropriate expense category from the drop-down. Loss adjustment expense categories are defined by your ESL Office administrator.
Invoice No
Enter the adjustment invoice number here.
Invoice Date
Specify the invoice date here. Enter the date directly in the field in MM/DD/YYYY format or click the calendar icon and set the date using the date picker tool.
Receipt Date
When the adjustment was received. Enter the date directly in the field in MM/DD/YYYY format or click the calendar icon and set the date using the date picker tool.
Amount
Enter the adjustment amount here.

To create a new allocation, click New under the Allocation tab. To assign some or all of the amount to a current allocation, click that allocation in the Allocation list. The corresponding Allocation window appears.

Create or edit the allocation as follows. Click Delete if you want to remove the allocation.

Policyholder
Click the button to the right of the field and specify the policy holder using the Select Policy window.
Coverage Type
Specify the appropriate coverage type for the allocation using this drop-down.
Claimant
Click the button and specify the claimant for allocation using the Account Claimant Search window.
Amount
Enter the adjustment amount here.

Click Save & New to create  / assign the allocation and leave the Allocation window open. Click Save to create / assign the allocation and close the window. Click Close to close the window without making any changes.

Click Save in the Loss Adjustment Expense window to save your adjustment.

Note: Total allocation amounts must equal the loss expense adjustment amount.
