Statements Overview

Statements are commands you place within a template that tell ESL Office how to assemble the document. Use statements to provide special instruction on how the document should build. It is in the use of statements where the power and flexibility of the document processor tool is fully realized. All statements begin with @@. Note that a number of statements are in pairs: the opening statement tells the document processor to begin executing the special instruction, and the closing statement tells the document processor to stop executing the special instruction. Note that statement text never appears in the generated document, only the results of the statement.

Note: Many statements include tokens in their structure to provide the data required by the statement.
